Morocco Crowned 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Champion… Royal Moroccan Football Federation Clarifies Its Position
The Moroccan national team has officially been crowned champion of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, after the CAF Appeals Committee confirmed their 3-0 victory over Senegal, following the appeal submitted by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation.
In a statement, the Federation emphasized that its action aimed to ensure fair enforcement of the competition’s regulations. It stressed that the move was not intended to question the sporting performance of the participating teams, but rather to uphold the integrity of the competition and the stability of continental tournaments.
The Federation clarified that it adhered to the legal procedures of African football authorities and that its appeal focused solely on ensuring precise application of the tournament rules, safeguarding fairness and equal opportunities.
The Moroccan football body also reaffirmed its support for the stability and credibility of African competitions, praising all the teams that participated in the latest edition of the tournament, describing it as an important milestone in the development of African football.
The Federation concluded by announcing that a detailed official clarification will be issued tomorrow, following a meeting of its decision-making bodies, providing further information on its position.
