Report Highlights Developmental Transformation, Service Modernization to Enhance Experience of Guests of Allah in Makkah

The Makkah Chamber, represented by the Makkah Center for Economic Information and Studies, issued the “Pulse of Business in the Holy Capital” report, offering a comprehensive analytical overview of the sweeping developmental transformation underway in Makkah and the ongoing modernization of services and advanced infrastructure aimed at elevating the experience of pilgrims, Umrah performers and visitors from around the world, in alignment with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
The report sheds light on the rapid urban and developmental momentum witnessed across the Holy Capital, reflecting its profound Islamic and humanitarian stature and the sustained commitment to advancing the integrated services ecosystem dedicated to the Guests of Allah. It highlights efforts to enhance quality of life and strengthen the efficiency of infrastructure and smart services in response to the steadily growing influx of visitors and Umrah performers throughout the year.
The report examines several strategic pillars shaping the future of development in Makkah, most notably the modernization of Hajj and Umrah systems, advancement of logistics and transportation networks, expansion of digital solutions and smart infrastructure, promotion of environmental and urban sustainability, and empowerment of service sectors associated with serving the Guests of Allah.
It also outlines a series of indicators related to infrastructure development, advanced service delivery, adoption of technological solutions, and improved transport and logistics efficiency, all of which support efforts to enrich the overall experience of pilgrims, Umrah performers and visitors while reinforcing the Holy Capital’s preparedness to receive millions of visitors from across the globe.
According to the report, Makkah is progressing toward a balanced and sustainable development model that preserves the Islamic and historical identity of the Holy City while embracing modern advancements in services, smart infrastructure and sustainability, further cementing its position as a global destination dedicated to serving the Guests of Allah.
Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Makkah Chamber Abdullah Saleh Kamel said the report forms part of the chamber’s broader efforts to support developmental knowledge and provide a comprehensive information resource capable of assessing future trends and supporting initiatives and projects aimed at advancing services and enhancing the operational environment in the Holy Capital.
Meanwhile, Secretary-General of the Makkah Chamber Thamer bin Ahmed Baazeem said the report marks the first in a series of specialized studies and reports being prepared by the Makkah Center for Economic Information and Studies to support decision-making, enrich developmental discourse, and strengthen integration among entities involved in development and service sectors across Makkah.
The report underscored that development in Makkah is rooted in the unique character and humanitarian mission of the Holy City, contributing to improved service quality for the Guests of Allah, preservation of the Islamic and historical identity of the Holy Capital, and consolidation of its status as a global destination welcoming millions of visitors each year.
