Allegations of manipulation within CAF committees… Molina reveals behind-the-scenes details of a controversial case
Journalist Romain Molina has revealed new details about the inner workings of a case handled by the Confederation of African Football (CAF), pointing to possible interference during the initial stage of proceedings that may have influenced the outcome.
In a video clip, Molina stressed that these findings do not reflect any hostility toward Morocco, rejecting accusations made against him in this regard. He added that the information he uncovered suggests that certain actions during that phase may not have been in Morocco’s favor.
In the same context, Molina referred to a message he said was sent by Augustin Senghor, President of the Senegalese Football Federation and a member of CAF’s Executive Committee, to CAF President Patrice Motsepe, prior to the Appeals Committee’s decision. According to Molina, Senghor expressed concerns in the message about a “secret meeting” that might have aimed to favor Morocco over Senegal.
Molina highlighted what he described as a striking contradiction: while Senghor criticized these maneuvers in private correspondence, he did not publicly disclose their details, at a time when it has become difficult for Motsepe to ignore internal tensions within CAF’s Executive Committee.
